Here we responded to sounds played in class this was The Beatles – Revolution 9, this is how I visualised the song. The purpose of the exercise was to show how difficult it is to illustrate a sound collage like this. Although, I found it relatively easy to show how i see it, but I suppose it is different for everyone.

We then had to create a little character in a few moments in response to a sound from the Padlet that was not ours. Initially, I drew one character, but I didn’t like the style so I changed it then after finding out it was to be animated I drew inspiration from a video of my cat. I preferred the movement in it.

I drew the cat 12 times moving in response to the sound bite. I used my iPad to create a light box I used it to create an onion layer to stabilise the rest of the cat then to create a smooth transition from the last paw position. I made a time lapse of me drawing these frames.
I then used the Stop Motion App to animate the pages. As it was only twelve frames it only created a short 1s clip at 12FPS so I slowed down the frame rate and looped the video so that I could put the sound clip on top. I used Capcut for this on my phone as that’s the video editing software I am used to.
If I were to improve this without over doing it, I would make the frames loop more seamlessly by adding a few frames. I have learnt from this that I need to either include blur frames for motion or do it much more seamlessly to be less ‘clunky(?)’.
